The Construction Division conducts daily inspections on driveways, sidewalks and drainage for all residential building lots as well as commercial sites. The following is a list of projects currently underway:
•Canterbury Lane Drainage - to be completed by Fall 2013
•JYP at Oak and Patrick - to be completed by Summer 2014
•Oak Street - Design completed - permitting in finalizing process - to be completed by Fall 2013
•Thacker Avenue Signal - to be completed by Winter 2013
•Civic Center Parking Garage - to be completed by Summer 2014
•Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Phase III - from Thacker Avenue to Dyer Boulevard - The City awarded the project to Jr. Davis Construction, and the duration of the construction activities are scheduled to be completed within approximately 15 months.
The project consists of a new four (4) lane divided roadway between Dyer Blvd. and Thacker Ave. It also includes an extension of Alaska Avenue. The project includes the construction of a new road, sidewalks, pedestrian / bike trail, drainage, signalization, illumination system and water / sewer utilities.
While we expect inconveniences to be minimal, there will be the associated noise and dust as there is with all road construction projects. The City certainty sympathizes with any inconvenience that might arise, and will do our best to minimize the impact of these concerns during the construction.
