The Engineering Division consists of a staff of engineers, designers, construction plan reviewers, construction inspectors, and office staff. The Engineering Design team is currently working on projects, such as the Oak Street Widening Project, Shingle Creek Trail Projects, and John Young Parkway at Oak Widening Project.
Additionally, the Construction Inspection team inspects Capital Improvement projects, such as Martin Luther King- Phase III and the Thacker Avenue Widening Project. The Construction Plan Review team reviews engineering construction plans and calculations for projects that are proposed to be built within the City limits, ensuring the documents comply with City Ordinances.

The Construction area of this division reviews and issues Driveway Permits as well as, Right-of-Way Permits for all work in the City's right-of-ways. This is done for all other divisions of the City and outside entities. This department is responsible for ensuring all City projects adhere to the City Construction Standard Specifications.
