The Training Unit is responsible for the logistical planning and implementation for all the training held throughout the police department.
The Training Unit's primary responsibility is to provide support in lesson plan development, course curriculum, travel and training arrangements, armor weapons, pistol range operations and maintenance, coordinating in-service training, and providing new-hire orientation. The Training Unit is comprised of one Sergeant, Training Coordinator and a Training Officer.

The Recruiting Unit is responsible for the hiring of qualified police applicants and civilians who meet the Department's strict entry level requirements. The Recruiting Unit coordinates each step of the hiring process from the entry level exam to an applicant's first day in orientation. The Recuiting Unit is supervisoed by the Training Unit Sergeant allowing both units work in cohesion in order to accomplish their goals.
