The City of Kissimmee Police Department is pleased to offer limited volunteer opportunities for the public to become involved with and learn about law enforcement operations within the City. Civilian volunteers perform support functions in the Quartermasters Office, the Domestic Violence Intervention Project and Community Outreach Programs.
Quartermaster volunteer tasks consist of data entry, and clerical or administrative support. The Domestic Violence Intervention Project Volunteers are trained to perform as victim advocates providing support and referral services to victims of domestic violence. Community Outreach Volunteers assist with providing crime prevention information at events and at the Department's Community Outreach Post inside Plaza Del Sol.
In return for their valuable efforts, volunteers receive on-the-job training from the full time staff and are trained on the latest equipment, computers and software available. Volunteers receive upgrade training, as needed, when new technologies are developed and integrated within the department. Volunteer hours are flexible to meet the needs of the volunteer and the department. Volunteers may use the department as a reference for regular employment. See below for volunteer opportunities available.
