Major Crimes Unit


The major crimes detectives are responsible for investigating violent crimes which include the use of force of the threat of force.  These crimes are generally crimes against persons which includes murder, sexual battery and aggravated assault.

The Kissimmee Police Department dedicates a detective to work with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Crimes Against Children Task Force.  In addition to the task force's forensic capabilities, they investigate child pornography cases and other crimes against children. 

In addition to the detectives in the unit, the Victim Advocate and the School Resource Officers are included in the Major Crimes Unit.
