The Crime Analysis Unit provides operational support to KPD, City Hall, and local law enforcement, governmental and social agencies. The unit’s main purpose is to review and analyze criminal activity information to find patterned crime. The unit actively tracks residential burglaries, commercial burglaries, vehicle burglaries, auto thefts, robberies, rapes, and indecent exposures.

Once a problem area has been identified, the analyst writes a directional bulletin with a synopsis of all the information from the related cases, to include possible suspect information.  This bulletin is them distributed throughout the department for operational use.  These bulletins are addressed at Patrol briefings, at the Investigative level and during the monthly Intelligence Lead Policing (ILP) Crime Strategy meetings.

Crime Analysis also acts as a clearinghouse for information, distributing criminal information bulletins or ‘wanted posters’ that originate from investigators or patrol officers. A mug shot or suspect photograph library is also maintained. In addition, the analysts provide specialized research to operational personnel upon request.

Always ready to help their law enforcement comrades in the fight against crime, the Kissimmee Police Department’s Crime Analysis Unit is an integral part in the department’s support system.
