ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
The Economic Development Office was established in 2009 and is a division of the City Manager’s Department. This office is managed by a Director who is responsible for developing the marketing strategies and incentive packages designed to attract and retain corporate residents to the City of Kissimmee.
The office is also responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the City’s economic development activities and redevelopment initiatives. Some of those duties include working with developers and entrepreneurs to facilitate real estate development in key City redevelopment areas, such as at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport. The Economic Development office also works to promote the host of City attributes which provide an extraordinary quality of life for residents and businesses alike.
The City of Kissimmee is the home to a number of industries and looks forward to possibly becoming the home of your business as well.
Belinda Ortiz Kirkegard - Economic Development Director
Belinda Ortiz Kirkegard assumed the role of Economic Development Director in December 2009.
Mrs. Kirkegard welcomes communication with any entrepreneur interested in moving to our “All- America City” of Kissimmee. She also looks forward to working closely with many of the available local business resources, such as the Osceola County Economic Development Office, Osceola Small Business Development Center and the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission.
Her professional experience includes the Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association, Orange County's Business Development Office, as well as having worked for a few Central Florida elected officials. She is a national certified Economic Development Finance Professional and has earned a Masters degree in Public Administration.
