 About Vice Mayor Fisher

I am currently employed by The School District of Osceola County as a Project Manager in the Facilities Department located off of Bill Beck Blvd.  After working for the City of Kissimmee and KUA for over twenty years, I changed employment and went to work for the School District in 1997.

As the son of a Career Military Officer, I am an Army Brat who lived in Europe for eight years and all over the United States in Places like Fort Knox, KY, Fort Leavenworth, KS, Fort Leonard Wood, MO and Madison, WI while my father was in Vietnam.  I moved to Kissimmee July 4th, 1973 from Frankfurt Germany.  I have studied languages for years and work hard at German, French and Spanish.

Serving on Boards like the City of Kissimmee Board of Adjustment, KUA and City General Employee’s Pension and the School of Government has provided details into the working of the City.  I received an AA from Valencia Community College and a BS in Business, from Florida Southern College.  There was 6 boys and one girl in our family.  I have a grown daughter and three grandchildren living in Europe who I like to visit every other year.

Old black and white movies and especially foreign language films are a favorite of mine.  More current shows like NCIS and Big Bang Theory along with cowboy movies top my list.  German and Italian dishes are not only fun to prepare but are fun to share with family and friends.  When I was a child, because of all the worldwide moves, I thought I would make a great Diplomat.

The best thing about being a Commissioner is helping to solve problems and dealing with others for the betterment of our community, as a whole.  We are all different and all have different needs.  That is why it is so important to listen and be open to other opinions and cultures before making any decisions.  We all need to show patience when dealing with difficult problems to come to the best common solution.
