Counselor-In-Training Program Applications Available

As part of our full day summer camp program, the Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department sponsors the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program.  The program provides an environment for you to learn skills that will enhance self-esteem, leadership potential, and opportunities for future employment.  Counslors-In-Training assist staff at both Camp Discovery locations.  This on the job experience qualifies for community service hours.  CIT candidates must fill out an application, submit 2 references and pay the $25 application fee, and will undergo an interview process for seletion and must attend a mandatory CIT Training/Parents Meeting.  

Applications will be available March 4 at the Oak Street Park Community Center and are due by April 12.  

CIT's who successfully complete 8 out of 10 weeks may be eligable for a refund of their application fee. 

Grades: 9th - 12th

Dates: Summer Camp 2019

Days: Monday - Friday

Time: 7:00am - 6:00pm

Interviews: April 29 - May 3

Mandatory Training: May 28, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
