Women’s History Month Begins
The Kissimmee City Commission will meet on Tuesday, March 6 at 6 p.m. at the Commission Chambers at Kissimmee City Hall. This commission meeting will follow right after our Women’s History Month Reception, which will be held in the lobby. Appropriately, this meeting will begin with a Women’s History Month proclamation as well as a presentation by Commissioner Wanda Rentas honoring women who have served our country and community.
City Manager Mike Steigerwald will also present proclamations for March for Meals Month, National Vietnam War Veterans Day, and Water Conservation Month among others. There will be a presentation for Emily Salzman as employee of the month, a request to the Commission on the 2018 Relay for Life event, and a certificate presentation to Commissioner Jim Fisher for his completion of the Municipal Official training.
Residential Rehab and a Possible New Name
There are no public hearings at this meeting, but the Commissioners will vote for consent agenda items including a change order in the amount of $19,500 for the rehabilitation of 515 E. Walnut Street. The final item will be a request for the City Commission to consider renaming the civic lawn within Kissimmee Lakefront Park to Veterans Lawn.
