Recommendation for New Education Management Organization
With the City of Kissimmee’s continued commitment to the parents who have entrusted their student’s education to Kissimmee Charter Academy and with the education management organization (EMO) contract for Kissimmee Charter Academy expiring in June of 2017, the City Commission gave staff direction on July 22, 2016, to complete a Request for Qualifications process. This process allowed for any qualified EMO interested in providing education to the 772 students currently enrolled at Kissimmee Charter Academy to submit a proposal.
After completing an in-depth evaluation process, the committee ranked and recommended a new EMO for Kissimmee Charter Academy. We encourage parents to frequently visit this site (www.kissimmee.org/education) for more information on the selected EMO and the positive impacts you can expect to see at Kissimmee Charter Academy.
The formal recommendation will be considered by the City of Kissimmee Commission on January 17, 2017, at 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of Kissimmee City Hall (101 Church Street, Kissimmee, FL 34741). For questions, city staff can be contacted at 407-518-2323.
