The City of Kissimmee Parks & Recreation Department announces the celebration of the upcoming holiday season with special events planned at each of the City of Kissimmee Community Centers.
The City of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department is offering Holiday Camp from Monday, December 21 to Thursday, December 31 for students ages five thru 13. Campers will meet at the Berlinsky Community House located at 300 East Monument Avenue at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park for seven days of fun activities and field trips.
City of Kissimmee Commissioner Jose Alvarez has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2016 Transportation Infrastructure & Services committee. This committee has the lead responsibility for developing NLC federal policy positions on issues involving transportation, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports.
As part of the monthly Kissimmee Night Out series, the City of Kissimmee will host a creative painting event on Saturday, December 19th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Berlinsky Community House. The City of Kissimmee has partnered with The Palette Mixer to bring this event to downtown Kissimmee.
The City of Kissimmee will host a tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, December 1 outside of City Hall. The ceremony will take place at 5:15 p.m. and will feature carolers and light refreshments provided by the City’s General Employee Organization.
The City of Kissimmee will host a public meeting regarding the Oak Street Widening Project on Wednesday, December 9th, 2015 at Kissimmee City Hall, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers.
The City of Kissimmee will close all City offices on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Please note that Public Works Sanitation collections for recycling and yard waste will not take place throughout the City on Thursday, November 26.

The City of Kissimmee will host the annual Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday, December 12th, at 7:00 p.m. Residents, groups and businesses are invited to participate in this unique evening parade which illuminates the streets of Downtown Kissimmee.
The City of Kissimmee and Sedano’s Supermarkets teamed up for the fifth year to feed 150 local families in need this holiday season. Families were identified through local social service agencies and invited to receive a turkey and all the fixings to be prepared in the comfort of their own homes this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day meals will be distributed to 150 needy families so they can enjoy the opportunity to cook a full meal with their families compliments of Sedanos on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Kissimmee City Hall.

The City of Kissimmee announces road closures along Broadway from Neptune Road to Ruby Avenue to accommodate the 2015 Osceola Fall Art Festival this weekend. The closures will be in effect from Friday, November 13 beginning at 6:00 p.m. thru Sunday, November 15 at 9:00 p.m.
The Kissimmee Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2016 Citizen’s Police Academy that will begin February 24, 2016. The purpose of the academy is to build a partnership between the citizens and their Police Department.
