Located near Orlando, just eight miles away from Walt Disney World and 10 miles away from the Orlando -Orange County Convention Center, Kissimmee Gateway Airport (ISM) accommodates general aviation air service 24 hours a day with two paved airport runways--respectively 5,000 and 6,000 feet.

Four Fixed-Based Operators (FBOs) are located on the airport property, as well as a number of flight training schools, new T-hangars, box hangars, and a variety of recreational activities.

The public is encouraged to visit an historic Warbird Museum with T-6 Warbird adventure flights, P-51 Mustang pilot training and an 18-hole golf course.

  • Erika No Longer a Threat: National Hurricane Center
    Osceola County officials have returned the Emergency Operations Center to its normal level, monitoring, after the National Hurricane Center has advised that Tropical Storm Erika has dissipated and is currently not a threat to Florida. All sandbag locations will close at 6 p.m. today (Saturday), including in St. Cloud and Kissimmee. Officials for the county and cities remind residents of the importance of hurricane preparedness and to have a plan in place to keep their families safe during the hurricane season that lasts through Nov. 30.
  • Sand Bags Once Again Available In Osceola County
    Because of the flood watch issued for the area by the National Weather Service, Osceola County residents may fill and make sand bags at several locations. The locations will be open from 2-6 p.m. today and re-open at 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Monday.     Sand Bags Available in Osceola County
    Osceola County residents may fill and make sand bags at several locations. Unincorporated Osceola County Residents: The locations will close at 6 p.m. and re-open at 8 a.m. on Saturday. There is a 25-bag limit and help is available for those unable to fill the bags themselves.

    The City of Kissimmee will close all City offices on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. All Public Works Sanitation collections throughout the City will maintain their regular schedules. The City will re-open offices and resume regular business on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:00 a.m.

    The City of Kissimmee Public Information Office is now accepting applications for its School of Government Program. This program is designed to provide residents with a first-hand look at their City government. This free program is open to residents 18 years-of-age or older, who live or own a business within the City of Kissimmee limits.
