Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Phase III - from Thacker Avenue to Dyer Boulevard

The Public Works & Engineering Department is announcing that on Tuesday Sept. 3, 2013 the contractor JR. Davis will be on site with two crews. One crew will be starting to work directly across Alaska Ave. from the Service Center. Work in this area includes pond excavation, storm pipe installation along with relocating utility lines. Over the next few weeks the area will see temporary road closures with detours set up combined with heavy truck traffic. The second crew will be starting works on Dyer Blvd. and include roadway demolition, utility lines relocation and new installation.
Two way traffic and access to all parking areas will be maintained at all times using MOT devices and flaggers as needed. We will update this information as the project moves forward. Please pay attention and drive with caution as you transit thru the work zones. We will update the Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T.) plans as needed.
