Pay Schedule

  • Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis. Normal work week is forty (40) hours

Paid Holidays

  • Ten (10) paid holidays
  • 40 hours - Personal Leave

Vacation

  • 6 months - 5 years = 10 working days
  • 5 years - 10 years = 12 working days
  • 10 years - 15 years = 15 working days
  • 15 years - 20 years = 17 working days
  • 20+ years = 20 working days

Sick Leave

  • Eight hours per month to a maximum of 480 hours

Other Leave

  • Family Medical Leave
  • Funeral Leave
  • Military Leave

Group Health and Life Insurance

  • Open access health insurance plan which is managed as an HMO
  • Life, Dental and Medical coverage is provided at no cost to the employee and is effective the 1st day of the month (following 30 days of employment)
  • Coverage for dependents is available and is payable by the employee
  • Life insurance coverage is equivalent to employee's annual salary
  • Supplemental life insurance is also available
  • Optional disability, cancer and accident insurance are available
  • Employee Assistance Program is available through health insurance plan

Pension

  • Full-time employees are all covered under one of the City's pension plans
  • There is a separate plan for Police Officers, Firefighters, and Civilian employees
  • Employees contribute a small portion of their salary to the plan and the benefit varies by plan
  • In addition, employees can contribute to one of the voluntary Deferred Retirement Plans

Optional Savings Plan

Payroll Deductions are offered for the following:

  • Deferred Compensation Plan
  • U.S. Savings Bonds
  • Central Florida Educators Credit Union Membership

Blood Bank

  • Employees and their dependents are entitled to draw from the City's reserve account with the Central Florida Blood Bank
  • The Blood Bank reserve account is maintained through employee contributions

In-House Training Programs

  • The City of Kissimmee is strongly committed to providing continuing education for it's employees
  • Training is provided on a continuing basis in various areas of professional development

Safety Program

Safety Incentives are awarded for accident-free work environment. A yearly Safety Boutique is held for employees.

Wellness Program

  • "A Journey to Wellness," is a self-paced program available to employees. Incentives are offered for participation
