City to Celebrate Black History Month with Three Events

The City of Kissimmee will celebrate Black History Month with three events during the month of February to honor the rich history, diversity, and achievements of African-Americans in our community.


Black History Month Reception                                                      February 6

Kissimmee City Hall

African American Read-In                                                               February 10

1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Kissimmee Civic Center

The City of Kissimmee has partnered with Osceola Library System for the 6th Annual African American Read-In, which celebrates history with a wide range of inspirational and humorous selections from African American literature being read aloud. Attendees will also be able to enjoy musical selections and light refreshment.

Trailblazers Prayer Breakfast                                                          February 17

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Kissimmee Civic Center

Partake in a Prayer Breakfast paying tribute to community leaders for outstanding professional and civic accomplishments with a panel discussion.

Tickets for the Trailblazers Breakfast can be picked up at the Kissimmee Civic Center located at 201 East Dakin Ave., Kissimmee FL 34741.

Ciudad se Prepara para Celebrar el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana

La Ciudad de Kissimmee celebra el Mes de la Historia Afroamericana con tres eventos para honrar la historia, diversidad, y los logros de la comunidad afroamericana.

La Ciudad de Kissimmee hizo una alianza con el Sistema de Bibliotecas del condado Osceola para llevar a cabo el sexto evento de “African American Read-In” donde se seleccionan algunas piezas para leer en voz alta. Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de disfrutar de música y refrigerios.
