The City of Kissimmee has established an account at SunTrust Bank for the families of Kissimmee Police Officer Matthew Baxter & Sergeant Sam Howard, who were fatally shot in the line of duty on Friday, August 18, 2017.

Hundreds of Students Benefit from City's Back to School Jam

The City of Kissimmee Parks & Recreation Department held their Annual Back to School Jam at Chambers Park Community Center on Saturday, August 5, 2017, where they distributed over 500 free backpacks.

Back to School Jam attendees were treated to bounce houses, snow-cones, live entertainment as well as pizza donated by City of Kissimmee Commissioner Angela Eady. Books and bicycle helmets were also donated by the Kissimmee Police Department.

City of Kissimmee Mayor Jose Alvarez and Kissimmee Police Chief Jeff O’Dell attended to lend a helping hand during this event as well. “The generous support of District 15 Senator Victor M. Torres Jr. and his donation of 350 backpacks, and the support of other partners helped make this year’s Back to School Jam a success,” said Elizabeth Harris, Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Kissimmee.

Cientos de Estudiantes se Benefician del

“Back to School Jam” de la Ciudad 

El Departamento de Recreación y Deportes de la Ciudad de Kissimmee llevo a cabo el evento anual “Back to School Jam” en el Centro Comunitario del parque Chambers el sábado, 5 de Agosto- donde distribuyeron sobre 500 mochilas.

Asistentes tuvieron la oportunidad de disfrutar de casas de brinco, entretenimiento y comida donada por la Comisionada de la Ciudad, Angela Eady. Libros y cascos para bicicletas también fueron donados por el Departamento de la Policía de Kissimmee.

El Alcalde la Ciudad de Kissimmee, José Álvarez y el Jefe de la Policía, Jeff O’Dell brindaron ayuda durante este evento creado para los estudiantes. “El generoso apoyo del Senador Víctor M. Torres Jr. y su donación de 350 mochilas, así como la contribución de otras organizaciones, ayudaron a que este evento fuera un éxito”, dijo la directora del Departamento de Parques y Recreación, Elizabeth Harris.
