New Pilot Program will House and Employ Homeless Families

Post Date:08/07/2017

To provide some relief to the homeless problem in Osceola and Orange Counties, the Central Florida Foundation, the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, and local jurisdictions including the City of Kissimmee, joined together on August 4th to launch Impact Families- a pilot program focusing on employment and education.

“Impact Families will provide the necessary positive support and resources for the homeless and precariously housed, and will empower individuals to move them into higher paying jobs for a long-term change,” City of Kissimmee Mayor José Alvarez said.

Housing stability, employment and income are the primary areas this program will focus on. Identified families will be assigned to a Rapid Rehousing program and matched with a job placement coordinator through Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. Impact Families will involve case managers, employment specialists and other resources over a one year period as part of the pilot program.

Programa Piloto Ayudará a Familias Desamparadas a Encontrar Vivienda y Empleo
