Weather Forecast Prompts PrideFest Kissimmee Changes
Due to a current weather forecast that indicates the probability for thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon, the City of Kissimmee’s Parks & Recreation Department is announcing the relocation of PrideFest Kissimmee, which is presented by Telemundo Orlando, to the Kissimmee Civic Center on Saturday, June 10.
While the event’s expo activities and exhibits have been cancelled, the opening ceremony, Pulse Nightclub tragedy memorial, and all live entertainment will now take place in a concert format within the Civic Center. Participating food trucks will be relocated directly in front of the Civic Center for festival goers as well.
“The safety of event attendees and our staff remains the number one priority during any City event”, said Liz Harris, Parks & Recreation Director for the City of Kissimmee. “We feel it is important to move the event indoors so that we can still remember those that perished and celebrate the LGBT+ community within the City.”
Although the location of PrideFest Kissimmee has changed, the opening ceremony will still begin at noon. The event is scheduled to conclude at 5p.m.
The Kissimmee Civic Center is located at 201 E. Dakin Avenue, Kissimmee, Florida, 34741.
